My moms best Beef Stroganoff recipe

Use any kind of steak that you prefer. My favorite for this recipe is… (once again the lazy man’s choice) any kind of stir fry beef. However, any kind of meat that you are comfortable browning will do. You may even substitute chicken or pork if you like.

Cut up your desired protein into strips about a half inch wide by 2 inches long. Add 2-3 tablespoons of oil to the pan

This is the most important part of the process… Coat your protein in flour and use the edge of a plate to work the flour into the meat. I don’t know why but my mother taught me this and I did not follow it the first time I made it and it wasn’t the same. So…

Moving on… After you prepare your protein with the flour, heat it in a pan on medium high heat until browned. Add fresh or canned sliced mushrooms. Simmer for about 15/20 minutes. Add 8/16 ounces of sour cream and stir.

SECRET : Use cream of mushroom soup for another lazy but amazing out cone for a shortcut. You can even addit the next day just to revive your Beef Stroganoff or bring it back to life.
